The 2018 Alice’s Mataro like the 2017 vintage that preceded it is fruit driven, predominately red fruits, earth and tar. It has little or no oak influence and is a very fresh expression of the wonderful fruit that was delivered to the winery in the 2018 vintage. A wine to be enjoyed over the next 5-7 years but is drinking well now.

Region/Sub Region: 100% Barossa Valley/Ebenezer

Grape Variety: 100% Mataro

Technical Details: Alc 14.0%. 400 bottles filled.

Cellaring: 5 years plus

Serve: This wine will match well with a wide variety of foods.  The savouriness of Mataro makes it a great match for Italian foods, ham, and pizza. Try with game meats such as duck or even chicken.
