2018 Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mataro
Huon Hooke (huonhooke.com)
92 Points - Medium to full red/purple hue, with a chocolaty bouquet which is spicy and oak-marked. Some char and tarry aromas. The wine is medium to full-bodied and there are light but firm tannins adding some structure to the clean finish. A wine of intensity and character - delicious, really. And great value. 19/2/2019
Drink 2019 to 2033
91 Points - The type of wine you'd take to a gathering with friends and it would be run dry pretty quick.
An 85/10/5 blend, beautiful aromas spill from the glass. Buckets of fruit and a lick of fruit sweetness all contribute to a wine which screams for large pours.
Medium bodied, red berries, blue fruits, black earth, brown spices and fine pepper all mingle at ease. It's mouth-filling and persistent with a charismatic presence - did I say large pours?

2017 Grenache Shiraz Mataro
Huon Hooke (huonhooke.com) 500ml.
88 Points - Deepish red colour with a good tinge of purple. The bouquet is subdued and earthy, the palate straightforward and bright, bold and generous in fruit. Good honest grenache, well-priced. 17/3/2018
Drink 2018 to 2027
90 Points - It comes in a 500mL bottle for 'mid-week enjoyment or for that second bottle you just have to have'. A more than appropriate comment on the back label. A great little package too - a perfect match for a burger, and that's exactly what I did.
Such a pleasurable and easy drinking wine. No thinking, no fuss.
Raspberries, earth, soft brown spices, maximum slurp factor the winner. The spice hangs long urging another sip. A fine release oozing approachability. Thank goodness the 500mL bottle stopped me going back for more. Well worth the money.
