Hayes Family Wines Estate Vineyard Certified Organic

Since establishment, Hayes Family Wines have always sought to produce the best possible wines with the least possible impact on our land, our team and the community in which we live and work. A key part of this has been farming our properties organically, adopting sustainable practices and doing things the best way rather than the easiest, quickest or cheapest. The result is that we now have a vineyard, winery and cellar door that fit nicely into our landscape, and after an rigorous certification process, our Estate Vineyard and Winery are now Certified Organic. We are extremely proud of this result, allowing all wines we produce from the property to be labelled as Certified Organic.

Like all we do at Hayes Family Wines, we’ve moved to organics and ultimately sort independent Certification because we believe the grapes, and hence the wines, are better and the environment we operate in will be more balanced. We hope the people that work for Hayes Family Wines and those that consume our wines will do so with a subtle smile on their faces knowing that they are consuming something unusual in the Australian Wine Industry, high quality Certified Organic wines.

Unfortunately the term ‘organic’ is not currently regulated under Australian law, meaning that anyone growing produce or making a product can claim organic as long as they’re using natural methods or using at least one natural ingredient. This is why it is important for you to always look for ‘certified organic’ and a trusted certification logo, like our Bud logo, on organic products.

Organic always means: No synthetic chemicals, pesticides or herbicides, Made without artificial colours and preservatives, and GM ingredients are prohibited

In June, we will release our first set of labelled organic Estate Wines and we believe the difference will be present in the bottle. So look our the Estate Release in a few months time.
