All the Barrels Packed a Way - Vintage 2021 is a Wrap

Week 10

This week saw our last grapes finish fermenting and find their way into the Press and ultimately for most, into barrel. And what a vintage. The early messages is that quantities were good, quality looks exceptional, growers will be happy, winemakers equally happy. You could argue a perfect vintage and just what we needed after the challenging 2020 Vintage. Hopefully our global situation will improve and the beautiful wines that we have in our cellars will find a home in the years to come.

Our 2021 Semillon’s are ready for bottling with our single vineyard Semillons scheduled to enter the bottle in the first part of May, and they too look great.

With Vintage 2021 done, we turn our attention to sharing our 2019s and 2020s with our friends across the country, with dinners planned throughout June and beyond in most capitals. We have a number of wine shows we plan to attend as well as exploring a few export markets. Busy times ahead.

The Week Ahead

A bit of relaxation for most. Andrew and Vanessa will take a well earned week off, I will take on Cellar Door Duties, bottle the 2021 Semillon’s and attend a few post vintage lunches. A nice week or fortnight ahead after what has been a very busy and successful Vintage 2021.
