Our 5th Batch of Very Old Rare Tawny comes from our old stocks of traditional Barossa Tawny that have been aging gracefully for many years in 100 year old whiskey barrels. This batch of less than 300 500ml bottles comprises components from our old Grenache based barrels, Touriga barrels and components from our other old Tawnies to provide freshness. Tasting just beautifully on release.
NV Very Old ‘Rare’ Tawny Batch 4
TASTING NOTE
Drinking just beautifully on release. This Tawny has very focused fruit flavours, apricots, caramel, some rancio characters, finishing with excellent length and crisp acidity. Medium weight, it is rich and fleshy. This wine carries more spice then the Grand Tawny from this release due to the touriga component that is integral in the blend.
