Hayes Family Wines '2022 Hoffmann Shiraz' Pack
Shiraz remains the king of the Barossa Valley. There is almost 10,000 ha of Shiraz vineyards, but we can assure you that not all growers nor vineyards are the same. Different soil, aspects, clones and of course the grower themselves all make a difference.
The Hoffmann’s of Ebenezer are widely recognised as perhaps the best growers of premium Barossa Fruit. With Adrian at the helm, they have gone from strength to strength.
Adrian is one of our biggest growers and in 2022 we once again processed fruit from the Mickan, Dallwitz and Koonunga Block Vineyards.
Some years ago, Adrian took cuttings, or mass selections of the best vines in three premium barossa blocks, the Becker Koonunga Ancestor Block, Dallwitz (the home block for the Hoffmann’s) and the SCC vineyard in Flaxman Valley. In 2022 we only made one Mickan, a blend of all 3 mass selections.
Our Hoffmann DV Shiraz comes from the Dallwitz Block in Ebenezer. Heartland Hoffmann fruit.
The Koonunga Shiraz, also from the Hoffmann empire comes from an Ancestor Block in Koonunga in the Barossa's North.
Each pack contains 6 wines, two of each of the 2022 Mickan Shiraz, 2022 Koonunga Shiraz and 2 bottles of our 2022 Hoffmann DV Shiraz:
