2019 Hayes Family Wines VS Primrose Mataro.jpg

2019 Primrose Mataro

2019 Hayes Family Vineyard Series Primrose Vineyard Barossa Valley Mataro, $40

95 Points - Precision. Not a hair out of place. Mataro bliss.

Sleek, this wine slips through the mouth with ease. Sit down and have a glass of wine with winemaker Andrew Seppelt and his drink of choice is always Mataro. He loves the stuff and his passion for the variety is evident here.

From Ebenezer, a Barossa sub-region to the north, the fruit is grown on bush vines.

Scents of sauteed mushrooms, truffles, puffs of earth, popcorn kernels and red plum skins all reach out with open hands. Silky in delivery, it's meaty with dusty earth feels and that charcuterie board delish factor. Beautifully balanced and delicately spiced, its persistence is an absolute delight. Mataro heaven you could say. Go here and give me all of it!

As we only select the best grapes for our wines to create one barrel, there are only 350 bottles of this fantastic wine available. So that many of our customers can try this special wine, there is a 3 bottle purchase limit. Jump in quickly before it is all gone.
